08 Aug What is Liquid Waste?
Liquid waste essentially is any waste that can be found in liquid form, and is sometimes referred to simply as wastewater. It can be domestic, commercial or industrial waste.
Safe disposal of liquid waste is highly specialised and difficult to handle without expert help. Costs are rising, and so are the layers of legislation surrounding safe disposal, with penalties for non-compliance skyrocketing.
Luckily we are experts in the field and are ready for anything, so you can rest assured that we are here to help nationwide, whatever your liquid waste may consist of.
Here are some of the many different types of liquid waste which we can help to dispose of for you:
Waste Oil
Waste oil consists of any kind of oil which has been used, and so is contaminated by some kind of pollutant. Some of the most common examples are used cooking oil and engine oil.
It is a criminal offence to dispose of waste oil improperly because of the potential harm to the environment and to human health. Setting up regular collections of your waste oil by an approved provider such as Envirogreen can give you peace of mind, as you know you are protecting both your company and your environment.
Oily Water
Oily water can be collected, separated out into its components, and then treated and filtered with the oily elements often able to be recycled along with other waste oil. If not handled correctly, oily water can become hazardous to the environment.
Soluble Oil
Soluble oil is used in lots of different industrial settings, usually as a lubricant for metal machinery and manufacturing. It is extremely useful as a coolant and to reduce wear and tear in machinery, so is used in factories up and down the country every day, producing a lot of waste.
A benefit of soluble oil is that the oil can be recovered to be recycled into fuel. With the right treatments any impurities can be removed and the remaining oil used as fuel across a wide range of industries.
Spray Booth Sludge
Spray booth sludge is one of the most hazardous forms of industrial waste if not disposed of correctly. In industrial spray painting, the excess paint or “overspray” is washed away with water and eventually forms into a sludge which can clog pipes, contaminate air and water supplies, and wreak havoc on the environment.
With the correct waste disposal, this sludge can be removed in a completely harmless way.
Contaminated Water
Contaminated water refers to any water that is polluted by chemicals, human waste or other particles which could be harmful to people, animals or the environment if it got into the drainage system.
Our experts in hazardous waste disposal can easily and safely dispose of contaminated water in compliance with all regulations, so you don’t have to worry.
